The Nutrition team at Gousto helps to ensure every recipe our customers cook is as good for them as it is delicious. They’re the people behind the scenes checking that the nutrition and health information is accurate, the claims are honest, and that what they promise is what customers actually get. They care about getting the details right so customers can trust us, feel confident in what they’re cooking, and enjoy meals that fit their needs. Ultimately, their job is to keep Gousto’s food healthy, safe, and genuinely good for everyone.
Sarah Fancourt – Recipe Technical Manager and Lead Nutritionist
What I Do
I’ve worked across many areas of the food industry – from product development and food technical to nutrition. In my current role as Lead Nutritionist at Gousto, I help define our recipe range guidelines, ideate on new range ideas, and advise teams across the business on nutrition and health. I also stay ahead of industry and market trends, support our wider health and sustainability strategy, provide expert public comment, and champion clearer, evidence-based health education.
My Impact at Gousto
I juggle a lot of plates (pun intended!) – supporting teams across the business to ensure we’re maximising the health credentials of our recipe ranges. I’m passionate about making healthy eating simpler and more achievable for everyone and proud of the positive impact we’re having on people’s eating habits and overall wellbeing through balanced meals.
Something Fun About Me
Outside of work, I’m passionate about food access for all. I volunteer with a food charity that helps people experiencing food insecurity to improve their diets and budgets by learning to cook from scratch.
And at home, I’m kept company by my corgi, Peaches – because, really, what else would a nutritionist name her dog after if not her favourite fruit?
Sarah’s Ultimate Food Hack
Since working at Gousto, I’ve picked up loads of clever little kitchen tricks – but my favourite has to be with mushrooms. Instead of chopping them, I now crumble them straight into the pan with my hands. It gives a lovely, rustic texture, and saves on washing up – win-win!

Hannah Lloyd – Nutrition and Compliance Manager
What I Do
My role is based around upholding Gousto’s high standards by challenging existing processes, identifying gaps, and driving smarter, healthier ways for customers to eat well. I lead the Nutrition and Compliance team, ensuring every Gousto recipe meets both our internal expectations and all relevant UK food regulations.
Day to day, I develop and refine our nutrition standards, keep our policies accurate and up to date, and review ingredient data to ensure compliance. I also play a role in shaping Gousto’s wider health and nutrition strategy, making sure our approach is both responsible and forward-thinking.
My Impact at Gousto
I love being able to champion nutrition across Gousto. I’m proud to challenge our thinking and help drive positive changes for our customers and our long-term strategy. Knowing that the work I do helps shape decisions that genuinely support customers’ health and wellbeing is really rewarding.
Something Fun About Me
I’ve spent most of my career working with food, starting in consumer and sensory research. Early on, I worked as a professional food taster and organised food tasting tests. I was able to explore all sorts of weird and wonderful products, from butter (which unsurprisingly loses its charm after a few spoonfuls) to chocolate (which, thankfully, never did).
After years of tasting, smelling, and analysing food, I’ve come away with one undeniable skill – I now have the nose of a bloodhound!
Hannah’s Ultimate Food Hack
The mess-free way to deseed a pomegranate! Cut your pomegranate in half, pop it into a big bowl of water and gently break it apart underwater. The seeds will sink to the bottom and the white pith will float to the top. Scoop off the pith, drain the seeds, and you’re done. Genius!

Daisy Illing – Nutrition and Compliance Technologist
What I Do
I focus on the compliance side of nutrition at Gousto, which centres on validating all nutrition and health claims in line with the GB Nutrition & Health Claims Register.
I’m also involved in overseeing external nutritional analysis to confirm everything is accurate, as well as the New Product Development (NPD) process. I’ll check that every ingredient meets our nutritional standards, calculate five-a-day values, and provide support from a nutrition perspective on new ranges in development.
My Impact at Gousto
My role at Gousto impacts many different areas of the business, but particularly ensuring we are compliant with regulatory requirements. It’s important to me that all the nutritional information we provide to customers is accurate, and customers can trust that their health is our priority. I’m passionate about Gousto’s mission to offer accessible, nutritious meals to the public, and enjoy seeing the impact of my work on a daily basis!
Something Fun About Me
One thing about me is my love for all things fermented, from Sauerkraut to Kombucha to Kimchi. You’ll always find me loading my plate with something fermented! I’ve been making my own Kimchi for around 4 years and have finally perfected my recipe!
Daisy’s Ultimate Food Hack
I’m constantly learning new food hacks since I started working at Gousto, but my favourite is saving the juice from my tinned fruit to use in marinades. Not only does this prevent food waste, but it also makes your next meal even more nutritious and delicious!

Lizzie Moore – Food Technical Administrator

What I Do
I make sure every Gousto recipe is accurate, clearly formatted, and nutritionally reliable. In addition, I manage ingredient and recipe details, check the nutritional content of our meals to assess their health profile, and organise the nutrition and health claims we can make across recipes and ranges like Protein Hit and Fibre Fix.

My nutrition checks help position Gousto as a health-focused brand that customers can trust. By ensuring our meals are transparent, credible, and nutritionally sound, I support Gousto’s mission to empower customers to make informed, balanced choices.
Something Fun About Me
I love travelling! I recently explored Southeast Asia and previously lived in Cyprus for 5 years, so I’m always excited to learn about different food traditions, habits and cultures – and attempt to cook them myself!

Learning to peel ginger by scraping with a teaspoon!! Saves so much time and reduces food waste – I can never go back now!
