Our 2025 Impact Report: Cooking Up a More Sustainable Future
Last Updated on 20th October 2026 by Katherine Anstey
It’s that time again. Our 2025 Impact Report is fresh out of the oven and packed with big news from our sustainability journey.
From milestones to challenges and making meaningful strides across our people and planet initiatives — let’s dive into the highlights from the past year and how we’ve been raising the bar every step of the way.
Waste not, want not
Food waste is still one of the leading contributors to climate change. So stopping food from going to landfill is more important than ever.
With thousands of tonnes of food moving through our factories, keeping our waste low is a top priority. To keep a cap on it, we use our forecasting technology to prevent food surplus in the first place, and donate as much as we can to our staff and to charity. In 2025, we donated 24.6 tonnes of food to our charity partner Felix, including 9.4 tonnes through our partnership with DPD, who help us donate undelivered Gousto boxes.
Complex carbs
Our carbon reduction targets are ambitious and have been a key focus area for us from the start.
Every year, we take a full look at our carbon footprint, accounting for emissions all the way from the farm to the recycling of packaging in customers’ homes (and everything in between).
By measuring our emissions across the whole value chain, we can set meaningful targets, track our progress and focus on the changes that really move the needle.
Ingredients you can trust
One way we’ve been trying to improve the environmental credentials of our fish and seafood suppliers is by encouraging them to get certified through different schemes, including MSC, ASC, BAP and GLOBAL G.A.P. And if they aren’t able to do this, we encourage them to get involved in Fishery Improvement Projects or local programmes that support sustainable fisheries management.
If a supplier or ingredient falls below the high standards we expect, we have to make the tough decision to stop sourcing it. In 2025, we stopped getting mackerel after updated advice from the Marine Conservation Society found it fell below these standards. This approach is part of our commitment to supporting the long-term sustainability of fish stocks and marine ecosystems.
Health is wealth
We put health and convenience centre stage in 2025, with the launch of our new brand promise: “Convenience without Compromise”, proving that food can be delicious while still being good for you.
It’s a promise that comes to life through easy, nutrient-rich meals that never sacrifice on taste. And it’s what sets us apart.
In 2025, we launched our Fibre Fix range, the latest addition to our collection of healthy* recipes on the Health Hub. This, combined with the rest of our Health Hub, including our Calorie Controlled and Veg Boost ranges, saw huge growth which shows our customers care just as much as we do about eating healthier. We’re really proud to be working towards a healthy future with the meals we have on offer and we’re constantly making changes to the menu to make it even better.
One team, one dream
We wouldn’t be where we are today without our people, which is why we’re all about looking after everyone’s health, safety and wellbeing. In 2025, we went full steam ahead on reducing workplace hazards and cutting down our overall health and safety risk. Since we started tracking our Risk Reduction progress in 2022, we’ve decreased risk across our 40 key hazard areas by over 50%. We also saw actual workplace accidents drop (even as our team grew).
By changing the way we think to focus on behavioural safety and growing our safety network to a team of over 280 dedicated colleagues. From our 136 Fire Marshals and 72 First Aiders to our 44 Mental Health First Aiders and 34 Safety Champions, each person is a huge part of making sure our workplaces are safe places.
A huge thank you to our team, suppliers, partners and all our customers for joining us on this journey. We’re so proud to share our achievements with you. As always, there’s a long way to go, and we can’t wait to see how much more we can do. See you in 2026.
