These UK food halls are worth the trip

There’s a particular kind of chaos to food halls — not the stressful kind, but the good kind. The kind where you walk in and everything smells incredible. Where it’s loud, but no one minds. Where someone’s slurping noodles in one corner, someone else is juggling a tray of tacos and three pints in another, and everyone’s arguing about what they’re getting next.
It’s groups crowded round wooden benches, half-drunk cocktails and fighting over the last bite with your favourite people. It’s the crackle of fried chicken meeting oil, the hiss of dumplings hitting steam. The kind of place where you can eat standing up, with your coat on, and it still feels like the best meal you’ve had all week.
That’s the energy we’ve bottled with Foodtopia — our new, limited edition menu range inspired by the world’s best food halls. It’s big flavours, bold ideas and food that you’ll still be thinking about tomorrow.
But if you’re after the real thing — trays, trays, trays, and maybe a wine bar tucked behind a bao stall — here are some of the best food halls the UK has to offer. Bring your appetite.
Bang Bang Oriental – London
Kicking off with a bang, it’s London’s capital of Asian cuisine. Tucked away in NW9, Bang Bang Oriental is the UK’s largest Asian food hall with over 25 specialist vendors under one roof. Whether you’re craving Korean fried chicken, a hearty bowl of pho or some of the best Hong Kong-style roasted duck money can buy (shoutout Four Seasons) – this place is a one-stop shop for bold flavours, big portions and an unbeatable selection of Asian food. Come hungry, and leave with a new favourite lunch spot.
Cambridge Street Collective – Sheffield
Europe’s largest purpose-built food hall has landed in the Steel City — and it’s a stunner. Spread across three floors in Sheffield’s city centre, Cambridge Street Collective is home to over 20 global kitchens, from Korean BBQ and Palestinian mezze to Detroit-style pizza and Malaysian street food. The newly crowned ‘Best Food Hall of 2024’ boasts more than just food, too: there are rooftop terraces, four bars, AR darts and even a cookery school. So whether you’re popping in for a quick lunch or spending the day, you’re more than covered.
Mackie Mayor – Manchester
Housed in a beautifully restored Grade II-listed building in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, Mackie Mayor brings proper atmosphere to your dinner plans. The food lineup is seriously strong – think sizzling steaks from Tender Cow, wood-fired sourdough pizza from Honest Crust and next-level tacos and margs from Pico’s. Grab a seat at one of the communal tables, order a pint, and soak up the buzz.
White Cloth Hall – Leeds
Tucked behind the Corn Exchange, White Cloth Hall is Leeds’ freshest foodie hangout. Set in a Grade II-listed building, it brings together local faves and global flavours under one very cool roof. Grab Sicilian-style pizza at Morty’s, Malaysian classics at Kuala Lumpur Café or steaks and oysters at Lupton’s Chop House. Perfect for morning coffees, late-night bites and everything in between.
Seven Dials Market – London
Right in the heart of Covent Garden, Seven Dials Market is a foodie playground brought to life by the team behind street food powerhouse, KERB. Whether you’re in the mood for oozy cheese toasties from Pick & Cheese, steamed bao from Yum Bun or Indonesian fried chicken from Ayam Legend, there’s something here for every craving. It’s a high-energy, high-flavour kind of place – perfect for a spontaneous bite or a low-effort group hang.
Cutlery Works – Sheffield
Set in a former cutlery factory (naturally), this is the North’s biggest food hall – and one of its best. With 14 vendors under one roof, Cutlery Works is a staple for food lovers. Think gloriously sticky wings from Hot Chick, Malaysian street food from Zurul and tacos galore from Fuego 1987. It’s buzzy, dog-friendly and perfect for big groups. Come for the food, stay for the vibes.
Duke Street Market – Liverpool
Housed in a beautifully restored warehouse, Duke Street Market is Liverpool’s go-to spot for top-tier eats and good vibes. With six kitchens and a standout restaurant, Pilgrim, this award-winning food hall serves up everything from Latin American street food to fresh seafood and handmade pizza. Grab your favourite natty wine from the shop, sip on craft cocktails from the bar, and soak up the buzz.
