Marmite Pineapple Pizza With Bacon
Love it or hate it, we’ve put pineapple on a pizza. Glazed. In. Marmite!
If you’re hungry for Hawaiian, try this salty-sweet Marmite twist. The Marmite glaze and crispy bacon give a savoury umami hit to your pizza, perfectly balancing the sweet tangy pineapple.

Marmite Pineapple Pizza With Bacon Recipe
Serves: 2 people
Cook time: 25 minutes
1 220g tin of pineapple rings
1 garlic clove
1 fresh mozzarella ball, or 125g low-moisture mozzarella
90g British dry cured smoked streaky bacon
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
2 flame-baked pizza bases
2 tbsp tomato paste
Step 1 Preheat the oven to 220ºC / 200ºC (Fan) / 425ºF / Gas 7.
Step 2 Put a large baking tray in the oven to heat up (this will give you crispy pizza bases!)
Step 3 Drain the pineapple slices thoroughly, then stack them up and cut into quarters.
Step 4 Add the pineapple slices to a bowl with the Marmite and give everything a good mix up until all the pineapple is coated.
Step 5 Peel and finely chop or grate the garlic, then add it to a bowl with the tomato paste, black pepper and a generous pinch of sugar.
Step 6 Add 4 tbsp of cold water and give it a mix – this is your tomato sauce.
Step 7 If using fresh, drain the mozzarella with kitchen paper or a clean towel, then squeeze out as much liquid as you can then tear into rough, bitesized pizza. If using low-moisture mozzarella, grate the cheese.
Step 8 Chop the smoked streaky bacon into small pieces.
Step 9 Remove the heated tray from the oven and add the pizza bases. Divide the tomato sauce between the pizzas, and spread evenly with the back of a spoon.
Step 10 Top the pizzas with mozzarella, bacon and Marmite pineapple. Then drizzle it with olive oil and put the tray in the oven for 16-18 minutes or until the bacon is crispy and cooked through.
Step 11 While that bakes, wash the rocket and pat it dry. Drizzle the rocket with balsamic vinegar and olive oil.
Step 12 Serve the Marmite pineapple pizza with the rocket salad to the side, and enjoy!
