Cooking with teriyaki is super quick, delicious and creates a savoury-sweet glaze that helps keep chicken juicy and tender, perfect with sesame mangetout. Sear, glaze, toss, serve, and it's done!

Note: Equipment and pan sizes vary. Make sure you cook food thoroughly (even if it takes you a little longer than 10 mins)
Now, let's get started!
Boil a kettle
Heat a large, wide-based pan (preferably non-stick) with a drizzle of vegetable oil over a medium-high heat
Trim, then slice the spring onions finely (chop them in one bunch for speed!)
Once hot, add the diced chicken to the pan and cook for 3 min
While the chicken is cooking, add the mangetout to a large bowl and cover them in boiled water until fully submerged
Set aside to soften
In a small bowl combine the soy sauce, honey and dried chilli flakes (can't handle the heat? Go easy!) – this is your teriyaki sauce
Squeeze the pouch[es] of steamed white basmati rice to separate the grains
Tear the top corner of the pouch[es] (just a little!) and put the pouch in the microwave for 2 min or until piping hot
Tip: If you're cooking two packets, pop them in together but increase the microwave cook time accordingly
Add the teriyaki sauce and half the sliced spring onion to the pan
Cook for 3-4 min further or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly – this is your teriyaki chicken
Note: Please make sure you cook your chicken thoroughly (until there’s no pink meat and it’s piping hot!) as cooking equipment varies
Once the sauce has thickened, drain the mangetout and return to the bowl
Add the toasted sesame oil and sesame seeds and give everything a good mix up – this is your sesame mangetout
Serve the teriyaki chicken with the heated basmati rice, sesame mangetout on the side
Garnish with the remaining spring onion
