Better still, they look awesome; anyone you give them to will be seriously impressed&#8230;if you can resist eating them all yourself.<\/p>\n<p>There really is nothing that can beat a homemade present that actually looks and tastes incredible. You can add a personal touch to your homemade chocolate truffles by customising their appearance &#8211; just roll your truffles in a dusty topping of your choice.<\/p>\n<h2>Chocolate Truffle Recipe<\/h2>\n<p>We tried out a few different coatings on our chocolate truffles, all with great results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Cocoa powder<\/strong> &#8211; gives a good classic &#8216;dusty&#8217; truffle appearance<\/li>\n<li><strong>Crushed freeze-dried raspberries<\/strong> &#8211; beautifully bright and sharp tasting<\/li>\n<li><strong>Desiccated coconut <\/strong>or<strong> icing sugar<\/strong> &#8211; a snow-like coating for a festive feel<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ground almonds\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; praline flavoured deliciousness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>Makes 10-15 truffles<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>100ml double cream<\/li>\n<li>40g caster sugar<\/li>\n<li>110g dark chocolate, bashed into small pieces<\/li>\n<li>25g butter, softened and diced<\/li>\n<li>cocoa powder or alternative coating<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Method: <\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Heat<\/strong> the cream and sugar together over a gentle heat until nearly boiling. Meanwhile, add the diced butter and bashed chocolate to a large heatproof bowl<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pour<\/strong> the cream and sugar mixture over the chocolate and butter and leave for a couple of minutes, then stir until smooth.
