Bring your friends round, dress up like a zombie\/mummy\/vampire and decorate the living room until it looks dilapidated and cobwebbed enough to pass as a home for the undead. But there&#8217;s still something missing &#8211; food and drink.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re unsure about how sort out the problem of Halloween party food, that&#8217;s understandable. It&#8217;s a little tricky to make food that&#8217;s as disgusting as it is delicious&#8230;If you need some inspiration for easy Halloween party food that will leave your gruesome guests both impressed and well fed, we have a few ideas. From easy classics like the Watermelon Monster fruit salad to the creepy crowd-pleaser of Black Bat Wings, take a look below!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6657\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gousto.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Blog-banner-680x500-Black-Bat-Wings.jpg\" alt=\"Halloween Chicken Wings Recipe\" width=\"680\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ugh! Bat wings, yuck! Don&#8217;t worry &#8211; they&#8217;re actually chicken wings (much easier to get hold of and a bit tastier too) marinated in a truly delicious sweet barbecue sauce and crisped in the oven.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 cup golden syrup<\/li>\n<li>1 cup dark soy sauce<\/li>\n<li>1 cup teriyaki sauce<\/li>\n<li>1 cup barbecue sauce<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp black food colouring<\/li>\n<li>1.8 kg chicken wings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Combine<\/strong> the brown sugar, golden syrup, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce and barbecue sauce in a large bowl until the sugar has fully dissolved<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Add<\/strong> 1 tbsp black food colouring to the marinade a little bit at a time until it has reached a consistent black colour<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Stab<\/strong> the wings multiple times with a fork (to help them soak up the marinade), then add them to the bowl and place in the fridge\u00a0for a few hours, or ideally overnight<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Preheat<\/strong> the oven to 180<strong>\u00b0<\/strong>C\/ 160\u00b0C (fan)\/ 350\u00b0F\/ Gas 4 &#8211; only do this once the wings have fully marinated!<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Remove<\/strong> the wings from the marinade and place them on a roasting rack, fanning each wing out to give them more of a &#8216;batlike&#8217; appearance<\/p>\n<p><strong>6.<\/strong> <strong>Place<\/strong> the rack with the wings in the hot oven for 45-60 min. Meanwhile, pour the leftover\u00a0marinade into a saucepan and cook on a medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until it has reduced to a thick, syrupy consistency, then remove from the heat<\/p>\n<p><strong>7.<\/strong> <strong>Remove\u00a0<\/strong>the wings from the oven and spoon the black reduction over\u00a0the cooked chicken wings, before returning to the oven for 10-15 min.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8.<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Remove\u00a0<\/strong>the wings from the oven again and serve<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6655\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gousto.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Blog-banner-680x500-Watermelon-Monster.jpg\" alt=\"Halloween Watermelon Monster Recipe\" width=\"680\" height=\"500\" \/>Brilliantly simple, childishly gross and healthy as well, the Watermelon Monster has become a staple easy win in the weird world of\u00a0Halloween party food. We&#8217;ve given ours a seasonal twist by making the fruit salad &#8216;vomit&#8217; out of seasonal\u00a0fruit because &#8211; let&#8217;s face it &#8211; a watermelon isn&#8217;t very autumnal and we&#8217;re trying to compensate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 watermelon<\/li>\n<li>4 pears<\/li>\n<li>2 bunches of grapes<\/li>\n<li>4 apples<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nMethod:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>1. Mark<\/strong> out the monster&#8217;s mouth with a pen, like you do when\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gousto.co.uk\/blog\/discover-with\/how-to-carve-a-pumpkin\">carving a pumpkin<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6668\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gousto.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Halloween-Party-Food-Ideas-1-of-36.jpg\" alt=\"Halloween Party Food Ideas watermelon monster\" width=\"320\" height=\"214\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n2. Lift<\/strong> out and discard the mouth chunk of watermelon, using your knife to lever the segment free. We suggest using chicken eggs instead of dragon eggs (you don&#8217;t have to tell your guests), but you could also mix it up with little quail eggs &#8211; great for a party snack &#8211; or go big with an ostrich egg (amazingly, you can now buy these online)! Just remember to adjust cooking times for different size eggs&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>12 free range eggs<\/li>\n<li>10 teabags (or 60 ml food colouring)<\/li>\n<li>1 litre boiled water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gousto.co.uk\/blog\/nourishing-advice\/perfect-boiled-eggs\">Soft-boil your eggs<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> <b>Roll\u00a0<\/b>the soft-boiled eggs on a hard surface, gently applying pressure until the shells begin to crack in places. Continue doing this and cracking more of the shell with your hand, until a complete pattern of cracks has formed on the shell of each egg.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.\u00a0Combine\u00a0<\/strong>1 litre of hot boiled water with 10 teabags (or 60 ml of food colouring) in a saucepan and allow to steep, before adding the eggs to the dye-water<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Cover\u00a0<\/strong>and leave the cracked eggs in the dye-water overnight<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.
