Our 2024 Impact Report<\/b><\/a> is officially here and hot off the press.<\/p>\n

And what a year it\u2019s been. Time to look back on all the progress, celebrate the milestones and be real about the challenges we\u2019re still tackling.<\/p>\n

Ready to find out what we got up to in 2024? <\/b>This is what real impact looks like.<\/p>\n

\"\"Acting on climate change<\/b><\/h2>\n

The food industry is a massive contributor to climate change. As part of a high impact industry, we\u2019ve got a huge opportunity to make a positive difference and an even bigger responsibility to do so.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why in 2024, we dropped our total carbon footprint by 2% to 330,508 tCO2e. We also became the first recipe box globally to have our near term, FLAG and net zero targets officially validated by the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). This means our plans to cut greenhouse gas emissions are now aligned with the latest climate science \u2013 and we\u2019ve got the stamp to prove it.<\/p>\n

Fighting food waste<\/b><\/h2>\n

Around a third of all food produced globally for human consumption goes to waste \u2013 and here in the UK it\u2019s even higher with 40% of food never eaten. Producing food takes a huge toll on the planet, and when it\u2019s wasted, so are all the resources that went into making it.<\/p>\n

Fighting food waste is one of our founding principles and this year, we took it one step further. We hit our ambitious goal to halve operational food waste six years ahead of schedule, reducing it by 65% compared to our 2022 baseline. Want to find out how we did it? We also diverted a huge 74 tonnes of food <\/b>\u2013 the equivalent of 175,000 meals \u2013 with the help of our good friends at FareShare, bringing us past the 2 million meal milestone since the partnership began.<\/p>\n

Upping our packaging game<\/b><\/h2>\n

Our packaging was 74% recyclable<\/b> this year \u2013 the same as in 2023. While we made some positive changes, we also delisted a number of recyclable ingredients, which cancelled out our gains.<\/p>\n

If we measured recyclability by weight, our packaging would be 97% recyclable \u2014 but we like to set ourselves ambitious targets because that\u2019s how we drive meaningful change.<\/p>\n

Now, we\u2019re focused on making sure every new ingredient comes in recyclable packaging, and we remain committed to reaching 100% recyclability by 2025<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Putting health on the menu<\/b><\/h2>\n

Eating well shouldn\u2019t feel like a compromise, it should feel like second nature. And we\u2019re here to make that happen with recipes that are as good for you as they are delicious.<\/p>\n

In 2024, 39% of our recipes met our healthy standards<\/b> (up from 37% in 2023) and we\u2019re working to grow that number. Why? Because more options mean we can provide a better choice of healthy recipes to our customers and have a bigger impact on the planet too.<\/p>\n

Supporting our community<\/b><\/h2>\n

In 2024, we donated \u00a359,000 to charities<\/b> through Giving at Gousto, our Payroll Giving & Matching Scheme. We also launched the Giving at Gousto Council<\/b> \u2013 a brilliant team of people from across the business who\u2019ve been driving engagement with our Staff Charity Fund.<\/p>\n

We also reduced our gender pay gap by 78%<\/b> year-on-year (down to just 1.04%) and launched our brand-new Perk Pantry<\/b> \u2013 our one-stop shop for rewards, recognition and benefits.<\/p>\n

Massive thanks to everyone who\u2019s been a part of our journey so far. <\/b>There\u2019s still so much we want to achieve and we\u2019ve got even bigger ambitions for the future. No doubt there\u2019ll be hurdles along the way, but we\u2019ve always loved a challenge. Roll on 2025.<\/p>\n
