You\u2019ll pack your patty with marmite and relish then sandwhich it between toasted brioche, melty cheese and miso caramelised onion. Serve with fries and salad and dive in.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"RecipeHero_metaItem__YXg_2\">\n<div class=\"MetaInfo_wrapper__2pVUI typography_fontStyleS__1UtoE\">\n<div class=\"RecipeHero_metaItem__YXg_2\">\n<div class=\"MetaInfo_wrapper__2pVUI typography_fontStyleS__1UtoE\">\n<h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17922\" src=\"https:\/\/gousto.gurucloud.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Screenshot-2023-09-01-at-15.24.02.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"950\" height=\"936\" \/><\/h2>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>For 2 people [double for 4]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 brown onion<\/li>\n<li>50g baby leaf salad<\/li>\n<li>250g British beef mince<\/li>\n<li>3 white potatoes<\/li>\n<li>15ml Henderson\u2019s Relish<\/li>\n<li>2 brioche style buns<\/li>\n<li>40g cheddar cheese<\/li>\n<li>15ml white wine vinegar<\/li>\n<li>Marmite<\/li>\n<li>30ml mayonnaise<\/li>\n<li>White miso paste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You\u2019ll also need<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"RecipeBasicsSection_label__10eFC\" data-test=\"ingredients-basics\">Butter, sugar, vegetable oil, olive oil, pepper, salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>Cooking instructions 30 mins<\/h2>\n<p>For 2 people [double for 4]<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"RecipeHero_metaItem__YXg_2\">\n<div class=\"MetaInfo_wrapper__2pVUI typography_fontStyleS__1UtoE\">\n<p><strong>Step 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<div data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"fdrc7\" data-offset-key=\"8otv8-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"8otv8-0-0\">Preheat the oven to 220\u00b0C\/ 200\u00b0C (fan)\/ gas 7. Peel and finely slice the brown onion[s]. Heat a large, wide-based pan (preferably non-stick) with a little drizzle of vegetable oil and a small knob of butter over a medium-high heat. Once hot, add the sliced onion with 1 tsp [2 tsp] sugar and a splash of cold water, then cook for 8-10 min or until the onion has caramelised.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"fdrc7\" data-offset-key=\"k31v-0-0\">\n<div data-offset-key=\"k31v-0-0\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Step 2<\/strong><\/p>\n<div data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"69dof\" data-offset-key=\"fihdk-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"fihdk-0-0\">Cut the potatoes (skins on) into fries. Add the fries to a baking paper-lined baking tray with a drizzle of vegetable oil and a small pinch of salt and pepper. Give everything a good mix up and put the tray in the oven for 20-25 min or until golden and crisp.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"69dof\" data-offset-key=\"fcs9a-0-0\">\n<div data-offset-key=\"fcs9a-0-0\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Step 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<div data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"1q23u\" data-offset-key=\"2ni31-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"2ni31-0-0\">Meanwhile, combine the beef mince and Henderson\u2019s relish in a medium bowl with the Marmite and a pinch of salt and pepper. Give everything a good mix up until thoroughly combined (clean hands are the best way!) Divide the mince into 2 [4] and shape them into thin patties (approx 1cm thick).<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"1q23u\" data-offset-key=\"le8m-0-0\">\n<div data-offset-key=\"le8m-0-0\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Step 4<\/strong><\/p>\n<div data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"db82g\" data-offset-key=\"eisuf-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"eisuf-0-0\">Once the onion has caramelised, add half the miso paste (you\u2019ll use the rest later) and stir it all together. Transfer the onion to a bowl (reserve the pan) \u2013 this is your miso onion. Wipe the reserved pan clean and return it to a medium-high heat with a little drizzle of vegetable oil. Once hot, add the patties and cook for 6-7 min on each side or until cooked through (no pink meat) \u2013 these are your umami patties.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"db82g\" data-offset-key=\"6lvbq-0-0\">\n<div data-offset-key=\"6lvbq-0-0\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Step 5<\/strong><\/p>\n<div data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"2iu82\" data-offset-key=\"1lrp-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"1lrp-0-0\">While the patties are cooking, slice the cheddar cheese finely. Combine the mayo and the remaining miso paste in a small bowl with half the white wine vinegar (you\u2019ll use the rest later!), 1 tsp [2 tsp] sugar and a small splash of water \u2013 this is your miso mayo. Wash the baby leaf salad, then pat it dry with kitchen paper.<\/div>\n<div data-offset-key=\"1lrp-0-0\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Step 6<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"ae8dc-0-0\">Slice the brioche buns in half. Add the sliced cheese to the brioche base then top with the miso onion and umami patty (reserve the pan). Flip the brioche lid upside down and add it onto the patty.<\/div>\n<div data-offset-key=\"ae8dc-0-0\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>Step 7<\/strong><\/p>\n<div data-offset-key=\"dsqmm-0-0\">Wipe the reserved pan clean and return it to a medium heat with a drizzle of vegetable oil. Once hot, add the upside down umami cheeseburgers to the pan and press them down firmly with a spatula. Cook for 2 min on each side or until the cheese has melted and the brioche is toasted \u2013 this is your upside down umami grilled cheese burger.<\/div>\n<div data-offset-key=\"dsqmm-0-0\"><\/div>\n<div data-offset-key=\"dsqmm-0-0\"><\/div>\n<div data-offset-key=\"dsqmm-0-0\"><strong>Step 8<\/strong><\/div>\n<div data-offset-key=\"dsqmm-0-0\"><\/div>\n<div data-offset-key=\"dsqmm-0-0\">Slice the burger in half and serve with the fries and miso mayo to the side. Serve the baby leaf salad to the side with the remaining white wine vinegar and a little drizzle of olive oil.
