You&#8217;ll mix British beef mince with grated Italian hard cheese to make t<\/span><span class=\"ExpandingText_chunk-1__24wed\">ender meatballs, then let them bubble away in<\/span><span class=\"ExpandingText_chunk-2__2zef4\">\u00a0a rich tomato sauce. Top it all off with gra<\/span><span class=\"ExpandingText_chunk-3__1iddK\">ted<\/span><span class=\"ExpandingText_chunk-4__2oLR0\">\u00a0cheddar and let the slurping begin!<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17698\" src=\"https:\/\/gousto.gurucloud.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/1757_Classic-Spaghetti-and-Meatballs_003_REEDIT_0-1683795714810-x700.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"700\" \/>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<p>For 2 people [double for 4]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>30g grated Italian hard cheese<\/li>\n<li>15ml balsamic vinegar<\/li>\n<li>40g cheddar cheese<\/li>\n<li>400g canned finely chopped tomatoes<\/li>\n<li>190g spaghetti<\/li>\n<li>11g beef stock mix<\/li>\n<li>250g British beef mince<\/li>\n<li>30g panko breadcrumbs<\/li>\n<li>1 carrot<\/li>\n<li>2 garlic cloves<\/li>\n<li>1 brown onion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You\u2019ll also need<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Olive oil, pepper, salt, sugar, vegetable oil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Cooking instructions 40 mins<\/h2>\n<p>For 2 people [double for 4]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Add the beef mince, panko breadcrumbs and grated Italian hard cheese to a bowl with a generous pinch of salt and pepper. Using clean hands, give everything a very good mix up until fully combined. Divide the beef mixture into 10 [20] and roll into meatballs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Peel and finely chop the\u00a0brown onion<span class=\"text-danger\">[s]. <\/span>Top, tail, peel and finely dice the\u00a0carrot<span class=\"text-danger\">[s].<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Heat a large, wide-based pan (preferably non-stick with a matching lid) with a drizzle of vegetable oil over a medium-high heat. Once hot, add the meatballs to the pan and cook for 2 min on each side or until browned. Once browned, transfer the meatballs to a plate and set aside.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 4<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Return the pan to a medium heat. Tip: Add a drizzle of oil if your pan is looking a little dry! Once hot, add the diced carrot and chopped onion with a pinch of salt to the pan and cook for 5 min or until they begin to soften. Meanwhile, boil a kettle and peel and finely chop (or grate) the garlic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Add the spaghetti to a pot of boiled water with a large pinch of salt and bring to the boil over a high heat. Cook the spaghetti for 8-10 min or until cooked with a slight bite. Once done, drain the\u00a0spaghetti\u00a0and return it to the pot<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 6<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While the spaghetti is cooking, dissolve the beef stock mix in 150ml [275ml] boiled water. Once the carrot and onion have softened, add the chopped garlic and cook for 30 secs. Add the chopped tomatoes, beef stock, balsamic vinegar and 1 tsp [2 tsp] sugar and give everything a good mix up. Add the browned meatballs and cook, covered, for 7-8 min or until cooked through (no pink meat).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 7<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, grate the cheddar cheese. Once the meatballs are cooked through, add the drained spaghetti to the pan and give everything a good mix up until the sauce sticks to the pasta \u2013 this is your classic spaghetti &amp; meatballs. Serve the classic spaghetti &amp; meatballs in bowls. Top with the grated cheddar and season with a grind of pepper.
