Serve with rosemary fries and cheesy lettuce wedges and you&#8217;re sorted.<\/p>\n<div class=\"RecipeHero_metaItem__YXg_2\">\n<div class=\"MetaInfo_wrapper__2pVUI typography_fontStyleS__1UtoE\">\n<h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17669\" src=\"https:\/\/gousto.gurucloud.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/4374-Chicken-Bacon-Caesar-Sandwich-With-Rosemary-Crispy-Skin-Fries-RESHOOT-with-ciabatta0458-1654013623842-x700.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"700\" \/>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>For 2 people [double for 4]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 tsp dried oregano<\/li>\n<li>30g grated Italian hard cheese<\/li>\n<li>1 garlic clove<\/li>\n<li>2 ciabattas<\/li>\n<li>1 gem lettuce<\/li>\n<li>3 white potatoes<\/li>\n<li>1 tomato<\/li>\n<li>1 lemon<\/li>\n<li>320g British skin on chicken thighs<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp dried basil<\/li>\n<li>135g Jolly Good smoked streaky bacon<\/li>\n<li>50ml mayonnaise<\/li>\n<li>5g rosemary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You\u2019ll also need<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div class=\"RecipePage_ingredientsWrapper__3GMVU\">\n<div class=\"Card_card__1nK0q common_noBorder__S8PQt Card_visibleOnSmallScreens__23PB4 Card_lateralBordersOnSmallScreens__2HDzO\">\n<div class=\"LayoutContentWrapper_largeOrXLargePaddingHorizontal__HM78m LayoutContentWrapper_largeOrXLargePaddingVertical__2LEcC\">\n<div class=\"RecipeBasicsSection_label__10eFC\" data-test=\"ingredients-basics\">Olive oil, pepper, salt<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<h2>Cooking instructions 35 mins<\/h2>\n<p>For 2 people [double for 4]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Preheat the oven to 220\u00b0C \/ 200\u00b0C (fan) \/ gas 7, then take your chicken out of the fridge, open the packet and let it air. Strip the rosemary leaves off their stems (discard the stems) and chop finely. Cut the potatoes (skins on) into fries, then add them to a baking tray with a drizzle of olive oil, half the chopped rosemary and a pinch of salt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Put the tray in the oven for 25-30 min or until golden and cooked through, then heat a large, wide-based pan (preferably non-stick) over medium-high heat. Pat the chicken thighs dry with kitchen paper and season with the remaining chopped rosemary and a pinch of salt. Once hot, add the rosemary chicken, skin-side down and cook for 10 min or until the skins have browned and crisped up.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Add the browned rosemary chicken to a tin foil-lined tray (reserve the pan!) with the dried oregano, dried basil, lemon zest, a drizzle of olive oil and a grind of pepper. Put the tray in the oven for 17-18 min or until the chicken is cooked through (no pink meat!). Zest 1\/2 [1] lemon.<\/p>\n<p>Tip: Try to grate lightly with a micro-plane or sharp box grater and avoid grating the white pith, as this is very bitter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 4<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Return the reserved pan to a medium-high heat. Once hot, add the smoked streaky bacon and cook for 2-3 min on each side or until golden and crisp then transfer to kitchen paper \u2013 this is your crispy bacon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Peel and grate (don&#8217;t chop!) the garlic. Roll the lemon[s] with your hand on a hard surface (to release more juice) and cut in half. Add half the grated Italian hard cheese (save the rest for later!) to a bowl along with the mayo, the juice of 1\/2 [1] lemon, the grated garlic and a grind of black pepper \u2013 this is your Caesar dressing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 6<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Slice the tomato[es]. Wash the gem lettuce, then pat dry with kitchen paper. Separate 2 [4] outer leaves of the gem lettuce. Cut the remaining gem lettuce into quarters, lengthways. Put the ciabattas in the oven for 5 min or until they&#8217;re warm and crusty, then carefully slice them in half before serving.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 7<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Once the chicken is cooked (no pink meat!), transfer it to a clean board and pull it apart, using two forks \u2013 this technique is known as &#8216;pulling&#8217;. Return the shredded chicken to the pan along with the juice of the remaining lemon and give everything a good mix up \u2013 this is your Caesar chicken.<\/p>\n<p>To build, fill each warmed ciabatta with some Caesar dressing, Caesar chicken, crispy bacon, sliced tomato and outer lettuce leaves \u2013 these are your chicken &amp; bacon Caesar sandwiches.
