Kamala would be proud.<\/p>\n<div class=\"RecipeHero_metaItem__YXg_2\">\n<div class=\"MetaInfo_wrapper__2pVUI typography_fontStyleS__1UtoE\">\n<h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17637\" src=\"https:\/\/gousto.gurucloud.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/2855-Easy-Chicken-Biryani6082-1627922553860-x700.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"700\" \/>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>For 2 people [double for 4]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 brown onion<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp curry powder<\/li>\n<li>160g natural yoghurt<\/li>\n<li>2 British chicken breast portions<\/li>\n<li>16g tomato paste<\/li>\n<li>80g fine green beans<\/li>\n<li>11g chicken stock mix<\/li>\n<li>130g basmati rice<\/li>\n<li>30g sultanas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You\u2019ll also need<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pepper, salt, vegetable oil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>Cooking instructions 20 mins<\/h2>\n<p>For 2 people [double for 4]<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Before you start cooking, take your chicken out of the fridge, open the packet and let it air. Peel and dice the brown onion[s]. Chop the chicken breast portions into bite-sized pieces.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Heat a large, wide-based pan (preferably non-stick with a matching lid) with 1-2 tbsp vegetable oil over a high heat. Once hot, add the diced onion, curry powder and a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook for 2 min or until starting to soften.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, trim and cut the green beans in half.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 4<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Add the chopped chicken to the pan and cook for 2 min. Sprinkle the chicken stock mix into the pan and add the tomato paste.<\/p>\n<p>Tip: Add a drizzle more oil if the pan looks a little dry<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cook for a further 2 min or until the chicken is starting to brown. Stir in the basmati rice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 6<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Add 350ml [700ml] cold water to the pan and bring to the boil over a high heat. Add the halved green beans and sultanas. Reduce the heat to low and cook, covered, for 10-15 min or until the water has absorbed and the chicken is cooked through (no pink meat!)<\/p>\n<p>Tip: Add a splash of water if the rice is not fully cooked or the mixture is looking a little dry<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 7<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Once done, fluff the rice with a fork. Taste for seasoning, adding more salt and pepper if needed \u2013 this is your chicken biryani. Serve the chicken biryani with a dollop of natural yoghurt on top.
