But we don&#8217;t. So go on, try it. Have a proper breakfast and <strong>treat yourself.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Blueberry Porridge Recipe<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15306\" src=\"https:\/\/gousto.gurucloud.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Porridge-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"1080\" \/>Serves 1<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<p>50g blueberries<\/p>\n<p>3 tbsp maple syrup<\/p>\n<p>Zest of 1 lime<\/p>\n<p>Coconut flakes (to taste)<\/p>\n<p>45g oats (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/quakeroatsuk\/?hl=en\">Quaker<\/a> Oats are our fave)<\/p>\n<p>100ml milk<\/p>\n<p>100ml water<\/p>\n<h2>Method<\/h2>\n<p>Step 1: Preheat your oven to 180\u00baC \/ 160\u00baC fan<\/p>\n<p>Step 2: Add 50g of blueberries to a small pot with 2 tbsp maple syrup. Cook over a low heat until softened and the blueberries start to release their juices, then remove from the heat.<\/p>\n<p>Step 3: Zest a lime in a bowl, then add coconut flakes and another tablespoon of maple syrup. Give this a good mix up, then add to a baking tray lined with baking parchment. Put into the oven for 4-5 min or until starting to turn golden.<\/p>\n<p>Tip: Be sure to watch those coconut flakes like a hawk or they may burn!<\/p>\n<p>Step 4: To make your porridge, add 45g oats to a saucepan with 100ml milk and 100ml water. Cook over a low heat for 4-5 min or until cooked to your liked consistency (add more milk if needed)<\/p>\n<p>Step 5: Serve the porridge topped with your homemade blueberry compote and lime-toasted coconut flakes.<\/p>\n<h2>Caramelised Banana, Cardamom &amp; Tahini Porridge Recipe<\/h2>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<div>4 cardamom pods<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>45g porridge oats (we used <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/quakeroatsuk\/?hl=en\">Quaker<\/a> again)<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>100ml milk of choice<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>1 banana<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>2 Tbsp tahini paste<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>2 Tbsp honey<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>A knob of butter<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Handful of mixed seeds<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h2>Method<\/h2>\n<div>\n<div>Step 1: Squeeze open 4 cardamom pods and crush the seeds using a pestle and mortar.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Step 2: Heat a small frying pan. Peel and slice the banana then add to the pan along with a knob of butter, the crushed cardamom seeds and half the honey. Cook for 2-3 min or until starting to caramelise.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Step 3: Meanwhile, make your porridge by adding 45g oats to a saucepan with 100ml milk and 100ml water. Cook over a low heat for 4-5 min or until cooked to your liked consistency (adding a splash more milk if needed)<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Step 4: Once the porridge is cooked, stir through 1-2 Tbsp tahini paste<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Step 5: Serve the porridge topped with the caramelised cardamom bananas, the remaining honey and the mixed seeds. Enjoy!<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Sweet or Savoury Sweet Potato Toasts Recipe<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15309\" src=\"https:\/\/gousto.gurucloud.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Sweet-potato-toast-3564.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"1080\" \/>Serves 1<\/p>\n<p>Cook Time: 25 minutes<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<p>1 medium sweet potato<\/p>\n<p>Vegetable oil<\/p>\n<p>Salt<\/p>\n<h2>Method<\/h2>\n<p>Step 1: To make your\u00a0 sweet potato &#8216;toast,&#8217; preheat the oven to gas mark 6\/200\u00baC\/180\u00baC fan.\u00a0 Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and drizzle with a little oil.<\/p>\n<p>Step 2: Slice your potatoes lengthwise into 1cm slices and add to the baking sheet, toss in the oil to combine and then lay flat in one layer.\u00a0 Sprinkle with a pinch of salt and place in the oven for 20 minutes, or until soft with golden brown spots.<\/p>\n<h2>Topping ideas<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Blueberry and almond &#8211;<\/strong> 5 minutes before your sweet potato toast is cooked, throw over a handful of frozen blueberries and return to the oven for the rest of the cooking time or until the berries are cooked through.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile mix 1 tbsp of almond butter with 1 tbsp boiling water and 1\/2 tsp of agave syrup.\u00a0 Drizzle the sauce over your blueberry sweet potato toast, and serve.\u00a0 Try cooking your sweet potato in coconut oil for a slightly fruity and nutty taste.<\/p>\n<p>Mushroom &amp; Tomato &#8211; Before you roast your sweet potato toasts in the oven, add a handful each of button mushrooms and cherry tomatoes. Drizzle with oil, add a pinch of salt and cook for 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>5 minutes before they&#8217;re done, mix 15g of pumpkin seeds and \u00bd tbsp tamari, then sprinkle it over your toasts before popping them back in the oven.\u00a0 Serve with freshly chopped coriander and sliced green chilli.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gousto.co.uk\/cookbook\/vegetarian-recipes\/spiced-shakshuka-with-feta-crunchy-pitta\">Spiced Shakshuka With Feta &amp; Crunchy Pitta<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15308\" src=\"https:\/\/gousto.gurucloud.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Shakshuka-3549.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"1080\" \/>Ok, so this isn&#8217;t technically one of my creations. It&#8217;s a classic Gousto recipe inspired by the Turkish brunch dish, shakshuka, but I couldn&#8217;t not include it. In my mind there isn&#8217;t a more perfect way to start a morning. Golden, runny eggs poached in a rich, tangy tomato sauce studded with sweet red pepper, and showered with fresh herbs and creamy feta cheese. What a way to wake up!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gousto.co.uk\/cookbook\/vegetarian-recipes\/spiced-shakshuka-with-feta-crunchy-pitta\">Get the recipe &gt;&gt;<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"peanut-butter-pancakes\">Low-carb Peanut Butter Pancakes Recipe<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15456\" src=\"https:\/\/gousto.gurucloud.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/pancake-3584.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"4333\" height=\"4333\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Serves 2<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>For the pancakes<\/b><\/p>\n<p>2 bananas<\/p>\n<p>4 eggs<\/p>\n<p>2 tbsp peanut butter<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp vanilla extract &#8211; optional<\/p>\n<p>Dark chocolate chips &#8211; optional<\/p>\n<p><b>For the peanut butter drizzle<\/b><\/p>\n<p>30g butter<\/p>\n<p>80g peanut butter<\/p>\n<p>1 tbsp runny honey<\/p>\n<p><b>To decorate<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Dollop of your favourite yoghurt<\/p>\n<p>160g raspberries<\/p>\n<h2>Method<\/h2>\n<p>Step 1: Mash the bananas in a bowl, then beat in the eggs and peanut butter. Once they&#8217;re mixed, stir in the chocolate chips (if using).<\/p>\n<p>Step 2: Heat a frying pan over a medium heat with a drizzle of vegetable oil, then fry ladlefuls of batter for 1-2 minutes on each side.\u00a0 Repeat with the rest of the batter.<\/p>\n<p>Tip: To keep your cooked pancakes warm, cover them with foil and keep them in a low oven.<\/p>\n<p>Step 3: To make your peanut butter drizzle, heat the butter, peanut butter and honey in a saucepan until everything is melted and smooth.<\/p>\n<p>Step 4: Serve the pancakes hot, with raspberries and a generous drizzle of peanut butter sauce.<\/p>\n<h2>What is\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/gousto.co.uk\/\">Gousto<\/a>?<\/h2>\n<p>Dinner, but not as you know it.
