And with this recipe, there\u2019s no need to traipse around the streets of Berlin looking for the best kind.<\/p>\n<p>Super speedy and served with chips, we\u2019ve suggested popping your Wurst in a bun for a bite that\u2019s as good at a barbecue as it is after a night on the beers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>And don&#8217;t forget to share this recipe with any friends who should be wandering the streets of Berlin right now!<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<p>1 brown onion<\/p>\n<p>2 tbsp white wine vinegar<\/p>\n<p>4 cumberland sausages<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 tbsp curry powder<\/p>\n<p>300g potatoes<\/p>\n<p>1 baby white cabbage<\/p>\n<p>1 carrot<\/p>\n<p>1 tin of tomato frito<\/p>\n<p>2 sub or hot dog rolls<\/p>\n<p>Salt<\/p>\n<p>Sugar<\/p>\n<p>Vegetable oil<\/p>\n<h2>Method<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Step 1: <\/strong>Preheat the oven to 200\u00b0C\/ 180\u00b0C (fan)\/ 400\u00b0F\/ Gas 6. Cut the potatoes (skins on) into chips, then add to a baking tray with a drizzle of vegetable oil and a pinch of salt. Slide the chips to one side of the baking tray and add the Cumberland sausages. Bake for 25-30 min or until the sausages are cooked through and the chips are golden and crisp<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14467\" src=\"https:\/\/gousto.gurucloud.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/1215.-step-1-x750.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gousto.gurucloud.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/1215.-step-1-x750.jpg 750w, https:\/\/gousto.gurucloud.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/1215.-step-1-x750-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 706px) 89vw, (max-width: 767px) 82vw, 740px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Step 2: Meanwhile, boil a kettle. Grate the carrot (skin on). Once hot, add the curry powder and cook for 30 sec or until fragrant. Once fragrant, add the tomato frito and cook for 3-4 min or until thickened to the consistency of ketchup \u2013 this is your curry ketchup.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14464\" src=\"https:\/\/gousto.gurucloud.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/1215.-step-5-x750.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gousto.gurucloud.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/1215.-step-5-x750.jpg 750w, https:\/\/gousto.gurucloud.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/1215.-step-5-x750-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 706px) 89vw, (max-width: 767px) 82vw, 740px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 6: <\/strong>Meanwhile, peel and finely slice the brown onion[s]. Once the curry ketchup is done, transfer it to a bowl and wipe the pan clean. Return the pan to a medium-low heat with a drizzle of vegetable oil. Once hot, add the sliced onion with a pinch of salt and cook for 10-12 min or until soft and caramelised<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 7:<\/strong> Once the sausages and chips are almost cooked, add the sub rolls to a separate baking tray.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14468\" src=\"https:\/\/gousto.gurucloud.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/1215.-step-7-x750.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gousto.gurucloud.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/1215.-step-7-x750.jpg 750w, https:\/\/gousto.gurucloud.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/1215.-step-7-x750-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 706px) 89vw, (max-width: 767px) 82vw, 740px\" \/>Put the tray in the oven for 2-3 min or until warmed through. Carefully cut the warmed brioche sub rolls down the middle. Load each with two sausages, a dollop of the curry ketchup and caramelised onions.<\/p>\n<p>Serve the currywurst-dog with the chips and speedy sauerkraut to the side.
