[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Our Eco Chill Box is here! We haven’t taken our eyes off our sustainability goals, and we\u2019re delighted to announce the launch of our NEW cardboard insulator.<\/p>\n

After 3,200 hours of testing, the Eco Chill Box will replace our old insulation, keeping your ingredients fresh on the way to your door, and making our big red box more sustainable.<\/p>\n

So why are we so excited? Because this new insulator not only keeps your ingredients cool and fresh, it will also remove 74.5 tonnes of plastic from our boxes.<\/p>\n

We can\u2019t wait for you to see it in action, so tag us @goustocooking when you get yours.<\/p>\n

What is it?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Eco Chill Box is the first of its kind in the UK. A cardboard recipe box insulator that keeps the ingredients in your box fresh (making sure we don\u2019t waste any food<\/a>) while also being much easier to recycle.<\/p>\n

How do you recycle it?<\/b><\/h2>\n

It\u2019s super simple. Pull the lid and base off, flatten the box\u2019s walls and pop all three pieces in your paper recycling bin.<\/p>\n

For the ice packs, rip off the paper layer and pop it in your paper recycling bin. The plastic pouch (once drained) can be recycled with plastic bags at larger supermarkets.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s taken a while to get here<\/b><\/h2>\n

It\u2019s been a long road with some interesting challenges and a lot of trial and error. From the design, to building a whole new machine in our factory, it wasn\u2019t easy getting it right \u2013 but we kept at it and it\u2019s paid off.<\/p>\n

Our customers (that\u2019s you!) deserve a huge thank you. Without you, the Eco Chill Box wouldn\u2019t exist. 4,000 of you helped us trial and test it, giving us your honest feedback. So it\u2019s thanks to you we\u2019ve managed to reduce the plastic in your Gousto delivery by so much.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s next?\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

We\u2019re still determined to make Gousto a sustainable way to enjoy food. From cardboard egg boxes to paper rice bags, we\u2019ve removed a lot of plastic packaging from our boxes \u2013 but we won\u2019t be stopping there.<\/p>\n

Our new sustainability mission<\/b> is to make sure all Gousto-branded packaging to be reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2022.<\/p>\n
