When it&#8217;s good, it&#8217;s just\u00a0<em>SO<\/em> good!<\/p>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t feel\u00a0the same\u00a0way I do about stuffing, don&#8217;t worry \u2013 that&#8217;s what this\u00a0festive stuffing recipe is for! It&#8217;s a sure winner, with festive ingredients like cranberries and chestnuts mixed in to make it suitably Christmassy, so that it compliments\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gousto.co.uk\/blog\/how-to-cook-a-turkey\">your turkey<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>One admission for this recipe \u2013 it&#8217;s definitely not vegetarian, as it uses sausage meat as part of its base. I grew up eating vegetarian stuffing; it&#8217;s great stuff, so I&#8217;ll make sure I add a stuffing recipe for the vegetarians\u00a0to the Gousto blog\u00a0at some point in the future!<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>100g dried cranberries<\/li>\n<li>1 small onion<\/li>\n<li>50g butter<\/li>\n<li>2 garlic cloves, chopped<\/li>\n<li>450g sausage meat<\/li>\n<li>140g breadcrumbs (white or brown)<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd tsp chopped fresh thyme leaves<\/li>\n<li>140g peeled, cooked and chopped\u00a0chestnuts<\/li>\n<li>30g pine nuts, roughly chopped<\/li>\n<li>1\u00a0egg, lightly beaten<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Method<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Fry<\/strong> the onion gently in the butter for a few minutes or until\u00a0softened, then add the garlic and fry for another minute or so.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Allow<\/strong> to cool slightly,\u00a0combine\u00a0all the remaining ingredients together with the onion and garlic, adding enough egg to bind everything together. Use your hands to mix everything thoroughly.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bake<\/strong> the stuffing \u2013 either inside the cavity of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gousto.co.uk\/blog\/how-to-cook-a-turkey\">a turkey<\/a> or\u00a0roll the stuffing into 4cm wide\u00a0balls and\u00a0add them\u00a0to the baking tray alongside\u00a0your turkey when the turkey is nearly cooked, so they cook in the fat drippings for about 40 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]For a lot of people (myself included!), stuffing is one of the best bits of the\u00a0main Christmas meal.
